Logitech Revue 3.1 Official Release

Hello GTVHacker Community!

Looks like one of our member's Revues finally got the update, here's the link to download the .zip
[Google Link] ... elapks.zip

If you are on the UserDebug build you will need to check out the following post with instructions on how to update.
http://forum.gtvhacker.com/revue/topic254.html

DANGER!
**PRIOR TO INSTALLING THE NEW OTA YOU MUST INSTALL THE BUILD IN THE FOLLOWING LINK (OR YOU MUST ALREADY BE ON A 3.1 BUILD)**

http://forum.gtvhacker.com/revue/topic15.html

Otherwise the process just involves:
1.) Make sure you are already on a 3.1 build (If you are on a 2.1 build flash 55579 first!).
2.) Put the update on a fat32 formatted thumb drive
3.) Make sure the update is named update.zip
4.) Access the recovery mode on the Revue by holding the pair button on the back of the Revue until the recovery logo is shown (look for a splash screen with a down arrow)
5.) When you see the recovery logo press the appropriate key combo to display the "recovery menu". (Alt+L or FN+left arrow)
6.) Choose the "Update from USB" option in the recovery menu
7.) Enjoy 3.1

Some things to note:
If you are on a UserDebug build or a Hardware rooted 2.1 you may want to consider not installing this update as when you do you will lose root and access to the content bypass (which requires root). Otherwise if you do not mind, enjoy the official release of 3.1 for the Logitech Revue

If you happen to have bricked your box by installing this build before 55579 and are currently in a boot loop (yellow triangle and with exclamation in the center). Please PM me, I'm offering to fix these specific boot loops for free (other than the cost of shipping to me and back).

Instructions on how to fix the triangle with exclamtion point brick that occurs from going from 2.1->the official 3.1 without having gone to b55579 can be found at:
http://forum.gtvhacker.com/post3148.html

Update:
Update .zip has changed a bit, updated versions of a few apps with same build number. Old update still available at:
[Google Link] ... b61925.zip

Thanks,
Zenofex

i hope that this release is more stable than the user debug.

glad it finally hit. now to try and get adb working on my macbook. any1 have any easy guides to set it up?

also...would any1 recommend i update? i'm on the user debug. it wouldn't appear we are getting RW on /system anytime soon...so losing abd root isn't too much of a big deal i suppose...as long as the system is more stable.

or would you guys suggest i wait and stay on the debug and see what happens in next few days?

Do you have a md5 sum to verify this against? I don't want to risk bricking my revue, my wife would kill me!

this didnt work for me. after entering recovery it formatted cache, data and another partition i think and then gave me the option to apply the update.zip from USB. Everything looked normal at that point. Then it verified the update, unpacked the update and started to apply it when it then just went to a blank screen with a triangle with an exclamation point in it. after 3-4 minutes the system reboots and quickly displays the recovery splash before going back to the triangle screen again...currently stuck in this loop

This is the zip archive so you can test it by unzip utility like "unzip -t update.zip"

What version did you have install prior to this update?

I edited the top post after reading your post. Can you please tell us more info about exactly what happened?

WTF!!! You should delete this thread. this stupid method bricked my brand new revue. I had it for about 2 weeks. That goes to show you patience is a virtue. My impatient a$$ now gotta find a way to bring this shht back. The worse is this was posted in the logitech forum, which gave the link to this site. which made me believe that it was credible, but instead YOU want us to be test dummies!!! DO NOT TRY THIS METHOD!!!

Please can anyone tell me how to UNBRICK my revue?

as far as version i was on. Idk, I had it for 2 weeks, i remember it updating to the 2.1 update upon setting it up. Outside of that, I don't know what else to say. I put it on a 500mb flash drive. (yes fat32) I put it in there and it started just as it said it was suppose to, but then i get a big "triangle with an exclamation point in it" and now that's the only thing my revue shows.
