Perhaps someone who has HC installed could try installing this .apk and see what happens.

Yeah, but forcing it might not give the best app experience. I try later tonight when I get home. Also spare parts might do it because of the ability to run apps in compatibility mode, but might also require root.

I don't think anything Spareparts does need root.

After installing the honeycomb spare parts, no compatibility mode was available in the options. The same APK shows compatibility mode when installed on a tablet.

I think there is another spare parts app called spare parts plus. Try it.

all of these apps require root, unless I missed something HC doesn't have that yet. We need a no-root solution.

Some apps crash upon opening with a message that something failed upon landscape mode. I used "Smart Rotator" to force this app to landscape and the message doesn't apear anymore and the app works fine.

I have been using the app Orientation Control since it was posted here last year, it works with no problems...
