Don't know if anyone else posted this but just incase, here goes...

Side load - Go Contacts EX
Side load - Text +

On your phone back up contacts to sd card. To do this just open your contacts push the menu button and export contacts to sdcard. This will give you a vcf file.

Upload vcf file to dropbox.

Open dropbox and download file ( where it goes i have no idea.. if anyone could tell me that would be great. ).

Open Go Contacts EX and hit the menu button and import contacts. It will find the file and import contacts on its own.

Open Text + and all your contacts will be there and be able to be texted.

Both programs are a little glitchy but it works!!

Update -and perhaps easier version for people that have their contacts on Google Mail and/or Voice, or don't have an Android device other than GTV. :D

Side-load Install GO Contacts EX:
  • Go to Dropbox com in your browser on GTV and log in with the GTVHacker account (see: apps-and-suggestions/topic18.html).
  • GO Contacts EX 2.05 is in folder working/communication.
  • Click on the APK file and it will download to your Downloads folder.
  • Go to your Downloads folder from All Apps (or from the download complete notice) and click it.
  • It will install as normal.
  • You may then delete the file to free the space on your GTV.

Get your VCF contats file:
  • Go to your Google Mail/Voice account on your GTV browser (login, etc.)
  • Go to your Contacts list.
  • Click on the Export link (typically on the right hand side).
  • Select the contacts/groups you want to export
  • Select to export as VCF
  • It will also go to your Downloads

Import your Contacts:
  • Open previously installed Go Contacts app.
  • Press the menu button
  • Click on Im-Export (bottom left)
  • Select Import from SD card (it may take a couple minutes to find the file.)
  • Check the box(s) for the file(s) you exported from Google
  • Clik Ok
  • Wait for it to fininsh importing.

Your done. You can exit Go Contacts, delete the VCF file(s) from your Downloads (to free space - if you want). You should now have a contacts list on your GTV device for use in your working email or texting app.

I'm using a Google Voice app, and it works great! Apparently Notes+ and K-9 Mail are also working.

Thank you to Killer for directing me here and OP, Droopydroors for this thread.
My rating of GTV just went up a point.

I currently have a logitech revue with 3.2 and when I try to open go contacts and I am not sure which version I have it crashes

Does 2.0.6 of contacts ex work on your revue and is your revue at 3.2.

Also does it matter what version of text plus.

Will message you email.
