I just bought a refurbished Logitech GTV. My question is can i still do the hardware root? I powered the device up but did not allow it to connect to the internet. The firmware version is 2.1update-1. I don't want to mess with getting getting the adapter and soldering my unit if the uart port is already been disabled do to it being refurbished. I've searched all over the interwebs and can't find a definitely answer. Thanks for your replies! GTV can be such an amazing device if we could have the freedom to customize it.

You may want to keep an eye on the discussion in the following thread. I believe there are good times ahead for Revue owner ;)

I have seen that thread/tweet. I'm very excited to gain true root access to my revue. The problem I have is not knowing what I can do at this time. I will keep it offline in anticipation to the new rooting method being released if that is indeed what I need to do.

You are probably better off waiting for a software root. The hardware root could damage your box. Plus.... It would appear its been used before...so no....you can't root it. It's been updated. Still
2.1. Just patched uart port access.

Root is coming. Just sit tight and keep eyes out.
