Can someone please clarify the source of the update? Is it a leaked official build from Google or a hacked together version from the emulator that somehow exposed that UI?

It has to be signed by Logitech or Google, otherwise it wouldn't flash...

Yes, someone DL'ed it from android.clients.google.com and reposted on a file sharing site, so as not to drive a lot of traffic there.
