No, I don't have the Honeycomb 3.1 update.zip for the NSZ-GT1.

I don't even know if it's possible to do an update.zip from a USB drive at this point. I merely want to start a thread for it, as I can imagine it's only a matter of time before we have one.

On that note, congrats and many thanks for all the hard work in getting Honeycomb on the Revue! Hopefully this will serve as a catalyst for increased support for our Sony boxes. :D

There hasnt been much progress with these devices yet... Hopefully we will figure out the missing piece.

Yeah it's all up to Sony and Google on this. I have a Revue and a Sony Bluray GTV box. Revue seems to be the hot ticket right now. The update.zip's for the Sony and the Revue are totally different.

The revue update.zip is much more like a standard android update zip where as the Sony is quite custom.

This is typical Sony behavior... I just hope the official HC update opens some functionality...

Without root, I am only using Netflix n Pandora. No Gmail, or any Gapps, no browser choice, etc. All of my laptops have homes on my TVs, my Sony Gtv feels like a step backwards...I was hoping that could finally reclaim my laptops and wouldn't have to park them in their docks at night. Come on Sony!

But I await better days...

It's basically the end of summer and no sight of HC. Alot has happened to Google, more concerned with buying Moto Mobility instead of handling completing updates promised back here in May at Google I/O 2011. What does buying Motorola do for those of us who have invested in Google's seeming failed Internet TV venture. Why no info or updates since solid updates in April, and the B.S. one in July? Whose the person of importance that should have their death broadcast across America by Friday Aug 26, 2011 if 3.1 info is not mentioned followed by a release date of H.C. on or before 8/26/2011. How difficult is developing this firmware when there's 10-20 tablets using 2.3 or 3.1 now? Doesn't ICS come out this October? Get your house in order Google!!! Don't drop another GTV via Motorola, Samsung or anyone else before you have the Sony GTV & Revue working flawless.

sharing in ur pain bro, but heres where I have been seeing hope...

I know I saw a vizio gtv device coming soon, and I believe there was 1 othr company making a box as well. vizio is a cheaper manu in my book, but they have a lotta mkt share... they know some real success and they wouldnt come into the game this late without guarantees from goog. it wud b like jumping on the WebOS band wagon at this point! lol no 1 in their rite mind wud do that.

I think we can expect better things... in the scheme of things, I think we r moments away from the goods! ;)

Yeah - as it was said, Sony devices do support an update on USB, you can boot to recovery mode (it's in the wiki) and install it that way. Of course, hoping someone will leak a 3.1 update is what's needed. But, from what we have heard, it should be on-par with the logitech release, within a few weeks, hopefully (don't shoot if it does not come out). But, anything can change the release timeline (a large bug, for instance) etc.
